NEW BOARD MEMBERS AND STAFF PROMOTIONS AT THE ECONOMY LEAGUE


(June 20, 2008 – Philadelphia) The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia is pleased to announce
changes in leadership at the Board of Directors and staff levels.


Peter K. Classen, Executive Vice President, PNC Bank, and Philip J. Santarelli, Principal, Parente
Randolph, were elected to the Board of Directors at the Economy League’s June 19, 2008 Board meeting.


Classen brings a wealth of experience in managing operations and strategy to the Economy League. He
also sits on the board of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Foundation. Santarelli joins the
Economy League after working with the Great Valley Technology Alliance, an economic development
organization focused on strengthening the technology industry in northeastern Pennsylvania. Santarelli is
a member of King’s College McGowan School of Business advisory council.


Alison Gold has been promoted to Deputy Director for Strategy & Operations. Gold joined the Economy
League in January 2007 as Director of Strategic Initiatives after working for the Greater Washington
Board of Trade in Washington, D.C. Erik Johanson, formerly Research Associate, is now Project
Manager, focused primarily on transportation, infrastructure, and innovation policy. Johanson serves as a
Philadelphia representative on the SEPTA Citizen Advisory Committee.


The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization

sound public policy and increasing the region's prosperity.
