Leadership Exchange Explores Philadelphia International Airport

PHILADELPHIA - Leaders from various business, civic and government organizations throughout the region visited Philadelphia International Airport on October 24th as part of the 2013 Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange. The group received a behind-the-scenes tour of the Airport, followed by a panel discussion featuring Airport CEO Mark Gale and representatives from the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, US Airways, and the World Trade Center of Philadelphia.

The Leadership Exchange's annual program provides participants a unique opportunity to gain insight into the inner workings of some of the people, places and organizations that are key to the region's vitality. The 2-day symposium of learning, sharing ideas, and networking with new and established leaders from different sectors, industries and geographic areas takes place in Philadelphia every other year with the group traveling to a different city in the alternate year.

"It was a privilege for us to be chosen as one of the sites for the Regional Exploration Program," Gale said. "The Leadership Exchange provides a valuable resource in bringing together people and organizations from a diverse community and we were pleased to provide the opportunity to deepen our guests' knowledge and enhance their perspective on how the Airport operates and its importance to the region."

Philadelphia International Airport is owned and operated by the City of Philadelphia. The Airport is a self-sustaining entity that operates without the use of local tax dollars. It is one of the largest economic engines in Pennsylvania, generating an estimated $14.4 billion in spending to the regional economy and accounting for more than 141,000 jobs.
