A WORLD CLASS COUNCIL FORUM

GOING THE EXTRA MILE

Leveraging Smart Financing and New Funding Tools
for Transportation in Greater Philadelphia

With the passage of transportation funding legislation in Harrisburg last fall, southeastern Pennsylvania is slated to receive an additional $10 billion in state funds by 2040. This much-needed investment will help address long-deferred maintenance needs and upgrade deteriorating bridges, roads, and public transit. Achieving a World Class vision for our region’s transportation systems, however, is going to require leveraging these and other resources.

The Economy League and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission hosted this World Class Council Forum to explore how new state transportation funding will be deployed in southeastern Pennsylvania and how innovative financing and funding approaches can be leveraged to ensure that we’re making the most of transportation dollars and advancing projects critical to regional growth and opportunity.
