Organizational Overview 


The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia addresses critical issues facing Greater Philadelphia by providing impactful research, connecting diverse leaders, and advancing shared solutions. We envision a thriving Greater Philadelphia region powered by informed and collaborative leadership. Since its founding in 1909, the Economy League has believed that high-quality analysis and practical insight about the region’s most important challenges and opportunities, combined with collaborative, cross-sector leadership are crucial drivers of prosperity in Greater Philadelphia. 



The Economy League seeks a Social Impact Analyst to help identify ways the organization can measure and track the impact of its regional supplier diversity initiative. The person in this role would support the Philadelphia Anchors for Growth and Equity (PAGE) initiative by: 


  • Collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data demonstrating the state of minority inclusion in Philadelphia's major supply chains. Reports will include tables, charts, dashboards, executive summaries, or others as needed.

  • Reviewing program goals and creating key performance indicators that can be tracked to measure success and developing measurement plans for each program.

  • Participating in calls with business leaders, anchor partners, and funders to share, collect, and explain key information.

  • Conducting interviews and pooling insights to add qualitative analysis to quantitative data.

  • Tracking all data necessary for grant compliance and preparing regular (usually quarterly) grant reports.

  • Using collected data to offer insights into how the organization might support the improvement of supplier diversity efforts throughout the region. 

  • Performing quality control checks on existing data to ensure its accuracy.

  • Helping to turn data into unique storylines to be used for content creation and public relations efforts.

  • Partnering with other Economy League staff to create combined reports and develop presentations.

  • Supporting supplier diversity consulting projects for private and public sector partners.

  • The Economy League is an action-oriented ‘think-and-do’ tank that studies issues core to the economic vitality and equity of the city of Philadelphia and uses the information it collects to develop targeted programming to improve economic outcomes. The person occupying this role will need to be comfortable working in the organization’s fast-paced environment and connecting directly with local government, nonprofit, business, and academic leaders. 



In addition to the skills listed above the ideal candidate would have:

  • Exceptional understanding of Excel and experience downloading and cleaning large data sets

  • Solid understanding of data analysis and related tools and techniques including at least one of the following technologies: Google Data Studio, SAS, SPSS, SQL, R/RStudio, Python, Tableau, etc.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and present complex concepts 

  • Curiosity and ability to quickly learn 

  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills

NOTE: This position is a full-time, salaried position. The Economy League is currently operating under flexible Work From-Home rules, but it is expected that all employees are COVID-19 vaccinated and available to attend periodic in-person meetings at our Center City offices or elsewhere. As CDC and City of Philadelphia guidelines allow, we intend to transition to a hybrid work regime, so candidates within commuting distance of Philadelphia are preferred.
