Position Description:  

The Economy League seeks a Data Analyst: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to help the organization measure and track the impact of its regional supplier diversity initiative. The person in this role would support the Philadelphia Anchors for Growth and Equity (PAGE) initiative by:   

  • Collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data demonstrating the state of minority inclusion in Philadelphia's major supply chains.   

  • Preparing quarterly supplier diversity progress reports for partner institutions, preparing metrics for quarterly grant reports, and writing a yearly impact analysis.  

  • Reviewing program goals and creating key performance indicators that can be tracked to measure success and developing measurement plans for each program.  

  • Participating in calls with business leaders, anchor partners foundation supporters to share, collect and explain key information.  

  • Collecting necessary qualitative and quantitative data from all of our institutional and business partners.  

  • Performing quality control checks on data sources to ensure accuracy and using collected data to offer insights into how the organization might support the improvement of supplier diversity efforts throughout the region.   

  • Identifying key insights that can be used for external communication and partnering with other Economy league staff to craft stories using data and analysis.  

  

The Economy League is an action-oriented ‘think-and-do tank that studies issues core to the economic vitality and equity of the city of Philadelphia and uses the information it collects to develop targeted programming to improve economic outcomes. The person occupying this role will need to be comfortable working in the organization’s fast-paced environment and connecting directly with local government, nonprofit, business, and academic leaders.   

 

The ideal candidate has the following skills and competencies:  

  • Solid understanding of data analysis and related tools and techniques including at least one of the following technologies: Google Data Studio, SAS, SPSS, SQL, R/RStudio, Python, Tableau, or Power BI.  

  • Exceptional understanding of Excel and demonstrated experience downloading and cleaning large data sets  

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and present complex concepts    

  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn a new skillset or technology  

  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
