Commonwealth Giving: A Report on Pennsylvania Philanthropy

Commonwealth Giving cover The Economy League was commissioned by Delaware Valley Grantmakers (DVG) and Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania (GWP) to analyze data on philanthropic giving in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The study reveals the magnitude and trends in individual and foundation giving in the state between 1995 to 2005.

With data supplied by the Foundation Center, the study provides a benchmark of how Pennsylvania giving compares to national philanthropic trends. The report also presents a comparison of charitable giving in the Central, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest regions of Pennsylvania. The report is the first overview of giving in the Commonwealth compiled since 2001.
