(January 15, 2014 - Philadelphia, PA) The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia is pleased to announce new leadership of its Board of Directors for its 105th year. Robert J. McNeill, managing partner for Greater Philadelphia, Deloitte & Touche LLP, was elected to serve a two-year term as Chair at a meeting of the Board on December 10. The Economy League's 66-member Board is comprised of leading national and regional corporations and institutions working together to address the most pressing and challenging issues facing Greater Philadelphia.
An Economy League Board member since 2006, McNeill served as Vice Chair as well as Chair of the nonprofit's Management Committee during 2012 and 2013. McNeill said the Economy League's work informing decision-makers, convening stakeholders, and facilitating collaborations provides an important service to the region's economy. "Few organizations take on the tough issues like the Economy League does. We are a civic catalyst, whether it's through research and analysis, building sound strategies, or getting organizations around the table in a productive, forward-thinking manner. This type of service and work is crucial to Greater Philadelphia's future," said McNeill.
In addition to his role with the Economy League, McNeill is active in the CEO Council for Growth and Drexel University's Center of Corporate Governance. A graduate of Villanova University, he is a founding member of the Accounting Advisory Council for its School of Business. He succeeds Rick Altman, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Radian Guaranty.
