WORLD CLASS GREATER PHILADELPHIA RECEIVES $25K CHALLENGE GRANT Supports Economy League Initiative

(Philadelphia – December 1, 2010) The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia announced today that Brandywine Realty Trust has pledged $25,000 as a challenge grant for the Economy League’s World Class Greater Philadelphia initiative. Gerard H. Sweeney, Brandywine president and CEO co‐chairs the effort, along with Steven Altschuler, MD, president and CEO of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; Jane Pepper; and Wendell Pritchett, PhD, JD, chancellor, Rutgers University‐Camden.

World Class Greater Philadelphia is an initiative that brings together business, nonprofit, government, and community leaders to develop and implement a strategy for ensuring a prosperous, sustainable, and authentic future for the region. Facilitated by the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, this multi‐year initiative aims to position the Philadelphia region on a path to becoming a world class place to live, work, and play by the year 2026 – the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

“Particularly given the challenges that face all cities in the current economic environment, it is critically important that leaders from all sectors work together to make the Philadelphia region an increasingly attractive and competitive place to live and work,” Sweeney said.  “Brandywine Realty Trust strongly supports the Economy League’s broad‐based World Class Greater Philadelphia initiative.”

Donations from individuals and organizations are eligible for the Brandywine Realty Trust Challenge Grant for World Class Greater Philadelphia. The Economy League will leverage this grant toward its goal of raising $100,000 in support of World Class Greater Philadelphia by December 31, 2010.
