September 30 - October 3, 2018

Seattle, Washington

What is the Leadership Exchange?

The Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange is an initiative of the Economy League to develop leaders of business, civic, and government organizations into visionaries dedicated to making Greater Philadelphia a world class region. Through in-region programming and out-of-region learning visits, the Leadership Exchange provides a unique opportunity for participants to build connections with top business, civic, and governmental leaders and to develop a deeper understanding of the Philadelphia region. Since the inception of the Leadership Exchange in 2005, the program has had a strong track record of exposing participants to new insights and ideas, forging connections across sectors and industries, and strengthening a community of leaders who are shaping the region’s future.

Seattle 2018

The Economy League is excited to announce we’ll be taking regional leaders to Seattle for the 2018 GPLEX learning visit. Known for embracing new ideas, mind-boggling growth, and distinct political character, Seattle provides a fascinating case study of how things get done in other regions. The Seattle region’s top business, government, nonprofit, and philanthropic leaders will share their experiences working on Greater Seattle’s biggest challenges and opportunities, including:

  • Managing the rapid growth and transformation of the city

  • Securing large public transit investments to address growing traffic congestion

  • Building better systems to manage an acute homelessness crisis

  • Innovative K-12 arts programming to move the needle on the achievement gap

  • How to harness a world class global health sector to address local health disparities

  • Efforts to increase the diversity of the tech workforce and expand opportunity

  • Supporting Washington State’s international trade sector centered on its ports and airport

  • Using a bustling food economy to improve health and increase access to opportunity

The application period for the 2018 Leadership Exchange has closed. Please contact Jennifer Egmont with any questions at (215) 875-1000 x126.
