The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to research and analysis of the region's resources and challenges with the goal of promoting sound public policy and increasing the region's prosperity. The Economy League was founded in 1909 around a fairly simple idea - that to be a successful, prosperous, and well-run region, we need to rigorously examine Greater Philadelphia's challenges and opportunities. Responsibilities

The operations associate will be part of the Economy League's team focused on strategic initiatives, operations, development and communications, and will report to the deputy director for strategy and operations. His/her primary responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Supporting the development of the content for the Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange including background research, scheduling, speaker follow-up, developing speaker preparation materials;
  • Providing logistical, outreach and staffing support for World Class Greater Philadelphia including scenario planning, working groups, and preparation for volunteer and staff leadership;
  • Working with the deputy director and the executive director to develop the content for the Economy League's quarterly Board of Directors meetings including speaker and moderator invitations, meeting preparation, etc.;
  • Drafting written communications, talking points, and correspondence for executive director, deputy director, and volunteer leadership as appropriate; and
  • Updating and expanding the content of the contact management database, as well as the board collaboration system.

Qualifications

Candidate should have a Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of experience. Additionally, he or she should possess:

  • strong written and oral communication skills;
  • creativity, self-motivation, and attention to detail,
  • exceptional organizational and problem solving skills as well as the ability to meet deadlines,
  • skill to juggle multiple projects at once,
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively, as part of a project team,
  • effective interpersonal skills, curiosity and a sense of humor,
  • passion for ensuring a world class future for Greater Philadelphia,
  • design skills (particularly relating to PowerPoint) a plus, but not necessary.

Job Type

The operations associate is a full time position with a pay range of $28,000 - $32,000. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a benefits package (health, dental, vision, 403b).
